I haven't used it with primer yet, but I tried it on my lid - it's very pretty. Not too flat - not too shimmery. \nIt applied evenly even without the primer. My skin tone is cool, light white with pink undertones. I have blue eyes and blonde hair. \nI can't wait to play with it when I wear all my makeup. It's definitely worth the money. \nFor we more mature people, it didn't cake into my eye creases or make them more noticeable.

I've bought a couple of these palettes and use about once a week. I like the texture and they go on smooth and blend well. Although, they tend to fade after about 6 hours. I would use them more if they came in a triple, or doubles, rather than a quad, because I find the colors in the palettes I use the most of, are the Lid and Crease sections, which are the smallest sections, but should be the largest sections, imo. I found the section marked 'liner' goes mostly unused. The second color I use the least of is the 'base'. So, I've almost used up the parts of the palettes most useful to me, and will be tossing the quad. Unfortunately, Maybelline does not offer the colors contained in the quads, in singles. Also, the choices for matte finish is very limited, in the single eye-shadows. I probably will never purchase these again, and will be looking for similar colors to the ones I like, in singles, elsewhere, and not at Maybelline.

I don't know if this is the new type of applicator they will be using but I sure hope not! Instead of two applicators there is just one which may have been fine if the handle wasn't a great deal smaller than the old applicator. You end up getting eye shadow all over your fingers no matter how you try to hold it. The different sized heads arent a bad idea - it's just the very short length of the handle that is the problem. I really like the eye shadow, it's a shame that they went with a new style of applicator.

Love the lavendar smokes collection. Only complaint would be they stopped putting the brush applicator in the package and the plum color that blends on your lid is small. I run out of that one color before the rest and have to buy a new palette due to that particular color not sold as a single color.

The eyeshadow is fine, but I need the applicator to be included with the eyeshadow. It's very inconvenient to have to purchase a separate applicator and find a convenient way to store it. I'm very disappointed that applicators are no longer included with Maybelline eyeshadow.

this has nice pigmentation. Better coverage than a topper, BUT it is NOT vanilla. This is a sparling, bright sulvery white with a slight bluish undertone. I really wanted a vanilla or ivory to use as a base coat. So even though it's good quality, the color is inaccurate.

Great color pallet. I have no problem with the applicator as others mentioned. Then again I've been know to use my finger as an applicator, so it isnt a big issue for me either way. Fir me the color is what's important and I couldnt be happier with the purchase.

I like the plum color-it's more sparkly than matte finish. I thought it would look darker than it does on the eye lid. It seems to stay put for most of the day. It's very crumbly. Overall I like it-it was less than $5-so nice for the price. I'd buy it again.

It is close to the color I wanted, although on my eye lids it is a little darker than I would have liked. Also, it is a little powderier than I expected. Altogether, though, it is fine, and I was happy to find it at a much better price than elsewhere.

Similar to others who have provided the same feedback...I have been buying this product for over 20 years and have been really happy with the product. However, recently Maybelline has changed the packaging and is only providing one double sided applicator. The new tool is so tiny that I end up holding the sponge part on the opposite end. Therefore, my fingers get coated in eye shadow. Changing the packaging to no longer include two one sided applicators to a single double sided applicator was a poor decision from a customer perspective. \r\n\r\nAs an alternative, I could use my finger, a Q-Tip or another applicator, but I shouldn't have to since the product is sold with an applicator for ease of use when on the go. \r\n\r\nPlease go back to packaging two one sided applicators.

This eyeshadow is the same one I have been using for years. I feel it is so versatile. I put it on usually as a base and then sometimes add other colors on my eyelids to mix with the base color. I also use the middle ash brown color as an eyebrow powder. I find it is the PERFECT one for my eyebrows. No other eyebrow powder has matched my brows as closely as this eyeshadow. The light color is the perfect highlight, without a bunch of shimmery stuff. The dark color can be used as a more natural eyeliner. The tan-ish color is a great neutral for the lids and crease. I love this and use it more than any other eyeshadow!

I love how this makeup feels on my skin. It has skin care in it. I have sun damage and need to add more to those brown spots for coverage. I am very fair skinned, blue green eyes, and wear shade 250.

Decent color palette. Didn't apply to skin the way wanted, but might try wet application next time to see if it improves. Some pictures show two wands but only came woth one dual ended wand.

Unfortunately I am disappointed. This silver eye shadow is way too shiny and looks strange in different lights. David Bowie would love it 😉 It was terribly hard to get off (a positive for some) and I had remnants for a couple days.\nI now use a tiny bit of it under a darker color, it lightens up the color and makes a new color.

I currently have 16Q "Lavender Smokes" and 08Q "Emerald Smokes". I Love having all my shadows coordinated and on hand.I only wish the lid shades were a little darker,not much,just a tiny bit as these seem a little light,which is why I'm giving it 3 stars.I love the combos though,and am definitely going to buy more of these quads.

I've used this Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow “Quads”, Chai Latte for years. However, it is no longer a “quad”! The upper left section is blank so that there are only three eyeshadows. I don't use that particular shade so I didn't return it. The eyeshadow is a good quality but it shouldn't be called “quad.”

It just doesn't go on very smoothly! It takes a lot to get the lighter colors to show up! I've been looking for a good eyeshadow %26 I'll keep looking!

Nice selection of colors, perfect for this season (Nov)\nBut, the sponge application had deteriorated. I saw no other issues.\nGood selection.

I just received the Sunlit Bronze and Mocha Motion. Neither palette matches what is advertised, especially the Mocha Motion. In the pictures, there is a lovely lavender shade for the lid, but the lid shade here is a bland pinkish gray. The liner is dark grey, crease color is grey, and the base is a very strong white color. There is nothing "Mocha" about this palette. As for the Sunlit Bronze, the base color is darker and shiny, and the lid and crease colors are darker, nowhere near as vibrant as the product photos on this website. The colors of the products I received are not what I would wear, so I will be returning them. So disappointing.

Why are there no applicators anymore? I have used this eyeshadow for years and still love it but this is the second time I have purchased and it has been missing the applicators. Fix this please! I really don't want to switch eyeshadows.

This is the second maybelline eye shadow I've purchased and I honestly don't like it. personally I feel like the cheaper brands have better eye shadow pallets. I picked this one for the colors but I don't like them in person.

3 stars as Maybelline eyeshadow is a fine product, but would give zero stars for the shade. I want a light pink, this is very bland without much tint. Almost translucent or grayish. Someone please make a nice pale pink!

After years of using more expensive brands of eyeshadow and never truly loving the colors, I decided to try this product in Charcoal Smokes. I have dark brown eyes. I used a Smashbox primer on the lids and the lower lash line. This shadow was super easy to apply and looked beautiful. It also stayed on all day, even the eyeliner color, which surprised me, especially since I usually use an actual eyeliner, not shadow. I'm very impressed and I'm planning to buy more colors!

I have used this same product for YEARS. The 2 that I just received had NO applicator but price was same. How are you to apply with no applicator?? Guess I find another brand that comes with the applicatot.

My daughter said "Ehh It's ok". Take that for what it's worth.
