Fantastic storytelling by Eric Church! Its like opening a book when you put this disc in, just let the album play itself out and chapter by chapter, or song by song, you will get a glimpse into the soul of a man who had a rough couple of years. Its not all about him, however, he uses this album to basically say that he knows its been rough for everyone for one reason or another, be it the country’s politics, mass shootings, or good old fashioned heartbreak. He doesn’t want to sing you any nonsense songs about teen dreams and how great life can be, he straight tells ya life is kinda crappy at times, but dont give up. Hang tight to your family and what you love, be true to yourself, and keep on keepin on, cause he’s right there with us.
