Madison Fire Department’s Investigative Team is looking to identify the cause of Thursday morning’s outside fire.

Two families are without a home after a fire broke out early Saturday morning on the 2400 block of Independence Lane, according to the Madison Fire Department.

The cause of an outside fire on Madison's north side remains under investigation. Firefighters responded to a fire in the 900 block of Troy Drive near Lerdahl Park at around 11:37 a.m. Thursday.

An outside fire on the isthmus from Monday night was traced to a bag of sawdust, a spokesperson from Madison fire said.
